Our Work Evaluation Services

Dr. Gerard Alleje can conduct a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) to determine if you are able to return to work. In case you are not, his Work Conditioning Program will get you in your best shape to make sure you are fit to do so and will even help you prevent future injuries.

Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE)

The purpose of a Functional Capacity Evaluation (FCE) is to objectively assess a person's physical abilities to determine if they can return to work, identify needed restrictions or accommodations, and support disability claims. It provides a comprehensive overview of a person's physical strengths and limitations by testing their ability to perform tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, and repetitive activities related to their job. At Best Practice PT, we use the Department of Occupational Titles (DOT) Format for the one day FCE testing.

Work Conditioning Program

The purpose of a work conditioning program is to restore a worker's physical capacity and function so they can safely return to their job, especially after an injury or extended absence. These programs focus on job-specific, work-related conditioning through activities that simulate work tasks, helping to rebuild endurance, strength, flexibility, and confidence while minimizing the risk of re-injury. At Best Practice PT, we run a 4 to 6 week program, 3 to 5 times per week, approximately 5 to 6 hours per session, and we are proud of a very high, over 90% return to work recommendation.
